In with the fabulous NEW!

The long-awaited day has finally arrived!

НОВЫЙ ДИВАН ЗДЕСЬ! (The new sofa is here!)

A new custom-made sofa, funded by generous gifts from friends of New Thing, has arrived at the Children’s Village in Kobryn, Belarus.

Sofas in these 8 homes for orphans had never been replaced since the Village was built, decades ago.

Most are in such bad shape, with broken springs and lots of other serious problems, it’s no longer reasonable to re-upholster them.

I hope we’ll be able to provide new sofas for the other 7 homes.

The same friend who matched every donation for this sofa will match every donation for the next 7 sofas!

As the old couch was carted away...

One very happy house-mom stole a moment to enjoy the new furniture herself....

And later, one little guy tried out the new equipment himself.

He’ll grow up knowing that someone far away loved him enough to send this awesome gift, the centerpiece of his home.
