Thank you for loving the orphans!...

Friends of New Thing have given so generously, we’ve been able to deliver enormous brand-new sleeper sofas to 3 more of the homes in the Children’s Village for orphans at Kobryn, Belarus!

The children and their house-parents are so happy!

In my 20+ years of working in Belarus, we’ve almost never taken on a challenge this huge: to replace decades-old, broken-down sofas in all 8 homes — at $2000 each, a total goal of $16,000. Impossible!

But we received an amazing Matching Challenge — every gift matched, dollar-for-dollar, until we reach the goal.

I’m so grateful for the outpouring of love and support for these orphans and their caregivers!

As I write, friends have responded with a total of $5424. Enough for a total of 5 sofas!

My great hope is that we won’t have to leave out any of these guys’ friends, the other orphans in the Children’s Village.

To close the gap will take another $2576.

If 20 friends are inspired to give a major gift of $128.80, all the orphans will share in the joy!
