The orphans thank you!

Just a note to the many friends of New Thing who gave so generously to replace ancient, broken-down sofas in 8 homes at the Children’s Village for orphans in Kobryn, Belarus.

50 gifts arrived — some friends gave twice, some even three times — gifts small and large (some very large!) and in-between — but every gift given with love. And deeply appreciated.

Through a tremendous Matching Challenge from a longtime friend, every donation was matched dollar-for-dollar!

Why sleeper-sofas? The Village remains home to the kids who age out and move on. They come home on breaks from college, or later, just to visit.

Where do you put a family member who comes home, when all the beds are taken? On the couch, of course. 

Our dear friend Oleg will visit Kobryn when the final sofas are delivered and send more photos then.

In the meantime, God bless all who have given, down through the years, to help the people of Belarus.
