New Thing is your love in action, inside the former Soviet Union

Curious about where NewThing.net came from?

A report from Doug Brendel to all who support or follow New Thing in Belarus...

A dozen children, maybe more...

Love helps make ends meet!

In Belarus, which has suffered population declines since Chernobyl, large families are prized.

But large families (some including children in the foster system) need help covering household costs — so they register with the state, and receive humanitarian aid.

Our “Response of the Heart” team arranges to bring major loads of donated aid in from other countries, and distribute it to people in need — including large families.

On this day, families with as many as 15 children gratefully received food and goods.

Here are two people who don’t get enough applause:

Anatoly officially chairs our “Response of the Heart” team; his wife Elena manages enormous volumes of documentation.

Every ounce of aid is scrupulously accounted for, down to the last kopek.

God bless everyone who gives to New Thing. You’re empowering the good work of our “Response of the Heart” team all across Belarus!

In other news ... 14 orphans have graduated from high school and need “Life Starter Kits,” with bedding, kitchenware, a laptop, and more.

We’re thankful for 7 households and one Rotary Club who have given a total of $1709.27 toward the $14,000 goal.

If you’d like to help cover the cost of a Life Starter Kit, or a portion of a Kit, we’ll welcome your support.

And the orphan-graduates will be so grateful!

Thanks for journeying with New Thing!

More adventures to come!

Much love,

Doug Brendel
