Love lights the night

Friends help friends in Belarus

“Blago” means “blessing” in Russian, and here comes Blago!

It’s a terrific group similar to our “Response of the Heart” team, but in the east of Belarus.

They’re based in Mogilev city, 30 mi. from the Russian border.

Sometimes Blago receives aid that can be better distributed through our warehouse in Minsk.

So the “Blessing” folk deliver the blessings.

This week, the truck arrived after dark.

Pretty chilly overnight in Minsk — but no matter.

Love shivers but never shrinks away!

In this load: food, clothing, shoes, mattresses, furniture, strollers, hygiene products, and more.

It will be carefully catalogued and then matched up with those who need it most — especially children and adults with disabilities, foster families and large families in need of help, and the elderly.

Our “Response of the Heart” receives a mountain of requests for help every month.

Workers’ families monitored the scene.

I think these children are learning compassion in action.
